“New York OnMap” is a real time location based New York traffic information sharing app. Users in New York city and the surrounding area can post or receive information on local taxi/passenger, traffic, weather, gas prices etc from Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad and all other iOS devices. All of the app’s information come from local users and are for local users.
The app provides Red Light Camera and Speed Enforcement Camera locations in the New York City area. Users can use this app to mark new Red Light Camera or Speed Camera locations as well.
With this app, users can also post real time location based information about:
• Available taxi cabs or location of passengers wanting a taxi
• Traffic Jams
• Car Crashes
• Police Mobile Speed Cameras
• Stalled Vehicles
• Various Bad Road Conditions
• Various Bad Weather Conditions
• Construction Zones
• Broken Traffic Lights
• Gas station locations and car wash services, real time gas prices
• Parking ground locations and prices
Currently, app users can receive or receive real time information from other users who post their information onto the map.
This app is integrated with Twitter service, meaning that Twitter users can post traffic related information onto their feed for others to see.
Note:
1. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
2. The gas station map pin shown on Apple Watch does not display the "Car Wash" sign which does show on iPhone or iPad for the gas station with car wash.
3. The traffic map pin shown on Apple Watch does not display the "Twitter Bird" sign which does show on iPhone or iPad for the traffic information queried from social media.
4.The Apple Watch version app does not support Glance feature.
